Well as much as that may be important for some use I don't think it makes much sense here when most of the industry sponsor and half their staff and premium customers are here. Also everyone knows half the people here are under the corporate version of rule number 1 called an NDA

So, where is the first review? Only thing here is some impressions and a lot of speculation.

I guess the first review will come along as soon as proper production units are available, rather than the pre-production units shown at CES.

I thought the cans at CES were actual production models.

The HD800 pads look thin, but are they hard or soft ?

and thinner. this thing is so thick. i'm not here to argue, i just know that for me if i was to invest that amt of money on a huge bulky headphones, i rather buy a badass surround sound for the family or something

I see. That is a totally different thing. I guess Sennheiser have a good reason for making them this size. 1. Sound quality and 2. comfort. Anyway, human ears aren't getting smaller...

haha yea. but on topic, i wouldn't mind trying them out

While I agree with you that most consumer tech is getting smaller, I don't know if that trend applies to statement products. Or, at least, products whose performance makes a statement.

Judging from the driver size, these are as big as they need to be. Any smaller and they would have had to use a smaller driver, which would impact the astonishing FR they have. That's not a great compromise, IMO.

If you want small and great sound, there are always products like the UE11 pro. For the rest of us, who have little intention of wearing $1400 out on the street, the size really isn't an issue. I never see myself wearing them, anyways.

You should be on the Koss PortaPro thread.

Very soft. Possibly the most comfortable headphones I have tried. World apart from the HD650 skull crushers.

Awesome. Comfort is a close second behind SQ for me. You can't truly enjoy the music when you're constantly thinking about that nagging pain on your head.

You heard them? Initial impressions? - sorry we are starving here
