BECAUSE OF THE SOUND DUDE!!!

You must be referring to Ultrasone here in being pissed about the looks!!

Thanks so much Jude! Well done.

Does Senn usually mention the Orpheus in its high end literature?

I'll take three.

Well, to be fair, looking at those photos aesthetics obviously were considered - the design isn't purely functional. If a member here considers it ugly so be it. I don't. Nor is it by most standards remotely the most ugly or beautiful. I'll have to see it in person to decide. Gotta admit, even with so little to go by, I'm a little surprised at the number of posts on looks at this point. Can't recall that happening with phones before... except maybe another Senn - the HD595... which I didn't understand that reaction either (and consensus quickly changed).

brochure mentions that the frequency response for each individual pair
can be looked up on their website by serial number...

where do i get in line?

maybe it's because looks is the only thing we can really talk about at this point...
looks fine to me...if looks mattered...wouldn't really love the k1ks like i do

Hope this one will also be good for rock

Looks look I may finally have to sell some of my original unopened Kenner Star Wars action figures.

If $1400, I'll still go for HD650s. Please don't tell me it is ahead 650s far away.

Might also be a good time for me to get and try the HD600 cause hopefully the prices will go down

Unlikely. HD600s can be had for $200. These are $1400 headphones, not quite a stair step.

GREAT news!
Alwyas nice to see new high end phones!
So
How is the stock cable? can you replace it? will replace it with something like Blue Dragon or Silver will make even a better sound?
Also
I don't like the way they look, I prefer the "old style" Shinn

Send me that link too!

Congrats on the scoop, Jude. It's quite the honor that they would allow you to have a listen in advance of their official announcement and even more so, to allow you to break the news!
