A cable for the soundcard - should I even bother?

Just got my little dot headamp.

It's connected to my audiotrak soundcard with the minijack-to-phono cable that came with it. This cable is not hifi quality - but it actually seems pretty solid and thick.

I was thinking of upgrading the cable. The cable would connect to my soundcard via this "Multiconnector" or what you might call it... as you can see, this connector has thin cables leading into the soundcard - so wouldnt all efforts to upgrade any cable leading into this mesh of thin cables be futile?

Cables, in my opinion, are a stupid investment. The differences between the conductivity and sonic properties of the various metals used in cables are so minuscule, why bother with anything other than a well-shielded copper interconnect?

If you're not picking up EMI from the sound card's breakout adapter, changing cables would be a fruitless endeavour.
