All I have to say is that their awesome pair of headphones. Great sound stage, vocals are a bit too strong, you can feel the bass other than hearing it, and great for movies. Comfort is 4.5...

I know people bash on Bose because of they're over priced and I agree. I believe these retail for about $150 or so and I paid $85 for these due to employee discount at where I work. With that...

Here's one...Chet Baker's Chet SACD by Analogue Productions.
It's recently gone out of production on SACD, though it's still widely available in redbook format. It's worth chasing down in the SACD format if you're a fan...the last time I was at Wadia they were using it for demonstrations. One of the best sounding SACD's I've heard, though limitations of the source tape will be evident. |

They're still there, here's the link...........
Amazon.com: Used and New: Very Best of Judy Garland: The Capitol Recordings 1955-1965 |
Thanks
| Strange. Only a $36 version came up when I searched with the whole title |

While Moncur is not a particularly well known jazz trombonist, he was a proponent of free jazz and made a couple of very interesting albums for Blue Note in the early 1960s with a great roster of musicians: Lee Morgan, Jackie McLean, and Bobby Hutcherson...just to name a few. Blue Note was not especially known for its avant garde recordings, so it's something of a rarity.

There are a few catches. First is that buying through the Amazon marketplace means you will pay $2.95 standard shipping for every single CD. There is no consolidated shipping. Second, you will spend a lot of time doing advanced searches on the OJC label to dig up all of these out of print titles.
You cannot get them from the Newbury Comics website. These titles are only listed in the Amazon.com marketplace.
Still, it is worth it for jazz lovers. Some of these titles have been out of print for years.

I have this set and recommended it to anyone who likes 1950s small group jazz. Ruby Braff, Buck Clayton, Illinios Jacquet, Harry "Sweets" Edison, and Ben Webster figure prominently in this set.

The Complete Blue Note Horace Parlan Sessions
This boxed set has been out of print for over a year. Mosaic found a small number of sets in the warehouse. They won't last long so if you like Horace Parlan then I suggest you get it while you can.

Marissa Nadler's LPs are insanely priced for any of her earlier stuff: 'little Hels' is going to go the same out of print way too. In contrast, her CDs are always cheap and bountiful. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's "Howl" sells for around US$200 for the double LP limited edition set and just about everything Grant Lee Buffalo adds a zero to the end of the price tag and anything Red House Painters/Mark Kozelek is just plain unaffordable after release whereas PJ Harvey early release LP prices are just stratospheric

My guess is that vinyl + limited edition production = out of print/deleted very quickly! This is a great sales model for many small bands and artists, especially indie artists. We do see pop bands like U2 doing the same thing on vinyl, but their quantities make it generally harder to attain, except by the most severe collector nutcases.

I received an email from True Blue that the following Blue Note titles have been deleted. What "deleted" means these days is not so clear. Will they really become hard to find or will there soon be new editions, as well as digital downloads, boxed set bundles etc.? Some of these I bought as cut-outs when they were "deleted" in the 80s and 90s. But anyhow, here they are. I asterixed a few lesser known titles that I can especially recommend.
