Cantate.2 or other amp? - Page 2

Yep, I'm still loving my Cantate to bits

I wish I'd got one now instead of my Arietta.

My iBasso D3 now stays plugged into my computer as a DAC to my Arietta, so I've now started to think I can sell my Arietta and the D3 and buy a Cantate.2.

I've had the Arietta for three days and the D3 for about three weeks. Neither are burned in yet, the Arietta has only been used for about four hours so why do I want to switch?

Damn this upgraditis.

My wallet is looking nervous.

Steven.

Are you all use the Cantate.2 as an AMP or are you using the DAC also?

Its one of the reasons I did not look at the Cantate.2 because I don't like the DAC.

I do use and like the DAC. If I find the time I might compare using the Cantate DAC versus my Edirol UA-25, but at the moment I'm quite short on that very commodity..time.

I use the internal DAC all the time. I tried going through my X-Fi sound card but the DAC sounds much better.
I believe that having DAC and AMP on one circuit board is a very good idea. Unfortunately I have no other high quality DACs to compare it with.

I myself am looking for a good desktop amp. I currently use the 2move which I love but feel I need to take it up a notch. I am currently looking at the Gilmore Lite and the Cantate.2 which I like for the built in DAC. Has anyone heard both of these amps? It would be great to hear how they compare.

Go-Vibe Mini USB Dac + Arietta :P Much cheaper, anyone think it would work well?

Has anyone used the Cantate with the K701?
