so i got these in the mail today

the sad part was that this was how the svart crown LP was packaged for its journey from france :<

It wasnt even in a box, they wrapped it in a paper bag like from a grocery store and then wrapped that in tape...luckily it made it to me unharmed, but i thought that was pretty unreal!

oh and the new Chthonic song is pretty sweet! its over here http://www.metalsucks.net/2013/04/22/chthonics-new-song-next-republic-is-really-good/

I did too. I mean, maybe they know what's up because I get stuff in terrible shape that came in 'better packaging'. Especially from across the pond.

That is unacceptable. Even in the metal scene. :) You got lucky it survived. We ship out vinyl in those sturdy vinyl boxes made for shipping. I wouldn't accept anything else. Vinyl is about collecting. I want those things to be mint

Ive actually recieved several in less tha desirable packaging recently, another one that came in not much was Adele's 21 that i got from the UK, it was in a tiny little cardboard package that didnt inspire alot of confidence, luckily nothing has arrived hurt. I guess the sleeve is a little bent on Svart Crown, but its nothing serious, and the vinyl itself is ok

I'm enjoying the latest Defeated Sanity CD right now. Wow, its not exactly their usual stuff plus the production is much better than the 2010 album

No new metal for me over the past couple of weeks, but my ongoing multiple CD changer in my van keeps an ongoing metal and rock rotation-otherwise I buy Cd's... listen to them a few times and they get buried in the rubble.

This week's rotation:

Rediscovering the last Satryricon release that I enjoyed:

I don't know how much play Junlge Rott's 2011 Kill on Command got on the blogesphere, but this bad boy scratches a lot of metalic itches for me...just kind of no frills and beefy...I think I prefer it to their current release...

I read some positive review on Metalsucks of 7 horns, 7eyes

Bought the CD, read the lyrics and said, What? Pat Robertson 700 Club evangelical metal!...

I still like their sound pretty well....but let's throw some blasphemy into the mix:

My main man Mortuus:

61tB7Q1sm2L.jpg

and one of my favorite 2011 BM releases:

Void [Explicit]

How about some 90's alt metal because I'm a guy of a certain age:

Finally  for some silly 70's fun:

Now for some troo cvlt blasphemy, I've decided that all metal turns my head into mush and with better acoustics, I've been streaming some classical and ambient stuff-What?! on Rhapsody:

NPR likes this one, so I said, let's check it out:

Brian Eno

Young cat conducting Mahler:

Everybody needs to chill from time to time....good late night background music.
