There seems to be a bunch of fake audio "leaks" but the only one I truly believe is this mini documentary of the 13 recording process.

Vertigo (worldwide) and Vertigo/Republic in the US will release 13. It features bassist Geezer Butler, guitarist Tony Iommi and singer Ozzy Osbourne while the drum tracks were recorded by Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine). The first studio clip can be seen here.

Beginning today, 13 will be available for pre-order on a variety of formats via http://www.blacksabbath.com. The various options include:

  • Standard CD album
  • Deluxe double CD album in a deluxe soft-pack (includes a second disc of exclusive bonus audio material)
  • Vinyl: a 12" heavyweight (180g) vinyl album in a gatefold sleeve
  • Super Deluxe Box Set: a Limited edition 12" clamshell box set which contains: Deluxe double CD album, 12" heavyweight (180g) vinyl album in a gatefold sleeve, Exclusive DVD containing "Black Sabbath--The Re-union" documentary, plus 5 behind-the-scenes videos, Download card containing exclusive track by track interview with Black Sabbath, 13 exclusive photographic prints and hand written album lyrics.

In addition, anyone who pre-orders any of these formats via www.blacksabbath.com will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of VIP tickets to an official 13 album launch event in London, including a meet and greet with the band, flights and accommodation.

To tell you the truth ..........I don't even care. They always sound great on vinyl. I'm sure it will be fine what ever it is. I'm more worried about Ozzy only having 44 days sober. It shows he was drunk in the studio...lol

Maybe he'll be better because of it?

From Metalstorm.

In other news, Ozzy Osbourne has released a statement about the rumours regarding his divorce and admitted his most recent struggles with substance abuse.

Wrote Osbourne: "For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an ******* to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.

Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I'm just trying to be a better person. I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period... and my fans. God Bless, Ozzy."

i was gonna do either the clear, or the black, none of the others did anything for me. BUt alas, i decided i couldnt do the SYL boxset and make all the purchases i want to for RSD on saturday, and that was an easy choice for me to make.

Coulda gone die hard, but I liked the splatter COLORS more and kinda shrugged off the rest of the stuff that was included.

I have plenty of clear vinyl already.

I fell for the clear vinyl, but I have no vinyl at all to begin with...

Man, how I want a turntable right now. Alas, new headphone amp and maybe a new DAC comes first. Maybe also the Lawton mod?

I'm also a bit apprehensive about getting into the vinyl game, as I can see my money disappearing very quickly, even if I got an excellent rig for free. Seems once you've got the vinyl bug, you need to reserve loads of $ for new records...

Get everything else perfect before going for vinyl, IMO. I made the mistake of doing it another way and it's REALLY HARD to not just buy more records whether you're satisfied with your sound or not.

The clear is sexy, but a splatter is more fun to watch spin. My mat is ugly, but effective...so seeing my mat through the vinyl does nothing for me.

Although I bet the clear vinyl showing through to the mat that comes with these sets would be really cool. :D

EDIT: Especially in the SUPER LIMITED EDITION VINYL world of Metal. Getting back into Metal got me to delve deeper into vinyl, and that made it 10 times worse. Southern Lord murders my wallet every time I go to the shop.

I hate saying this but I totally 100% agree with AMG's editorial on this:

Black Sabbath is not relevant TODAY. Kinda like Metallica. Legends once, had a profound effect on the music industry, metal specifically. Not TODAY.

Ozzy's voice is completely shot. I saw them on the THEIR first reunion tour and for christ's sake, it was shot back then.

The reunion and album is a complete farce in every way without Bill Ward. This is simply a cash grab. That's my 2 cents.

On that note, I am seeing Baronness and Ghost so at any moment I suspect Negakinu to take away my black metal privileges (or at least suspend them).

Sure they aren't current, sure it's a cash grab....but I won't have a complete discography without the new album (I'm not the only one who will get it for that reason...in fact it'll probably go platinum on nostalgia points alone)

Who knows, it might not even suck that bad....rolleyes.gif

And Super Collider will sound great too! (there is actually an outside chance...)
