Well I can't compare it to the CD or anything, but I will say this Riverside LP sounds amazing. Good music. Honestly reminds me a bit of Floyd at some parts.

Definitely a favorite from this year so far (now that I finally got a copy). Just put on side 3.

The CD is extremely well done. I've only heard a drop of the vinyl done on a rig I'm not familiar with, but it was very close. It's possible that the vinyl has more of an edge, but the CD is definitely no slouch. Now the one before that, ADHD sounds like crap on CD. That should be an easy win for the vinyl.

Bilocate - Summoning the Bygones

Be'lakor - Of Breath and Bone

Draconian - A Rose for the Apocalypse

Zonaria - The Cancer Empire

Kalmah - For the Revolution

The first four yes, definitely. Don't get the newest Zonaria though, really disappointing. Same with Kalmah's 12 Gauge - sucks. FTR is ok, but arguably the worst Kalmah album released to that point. They've been sliding downhill ever since Black Waltz came out.

Barren Earth's Curse Of The Red River sadly isn't on vinyl but that's definitely a must own. If you're in to Draconian, you'll probably really like November's Doom. The Novella Reservoir and Into Night's Requiem Infernal are both superb albums. Their newest is decent, it's by far the heaviest album they've done, but it's a bit soulless. You should definitely get the new Omnium Gatherum. Maybe some Vintersorg too, Orkan and Jordpuls.

Yeah I saw they had new albums and almost put them on the list but decided to stick to what I'd heard. Sad to hear Zonaria and Kalmah's latest releases are bad.

Barren Earth is definitely one I shoulda remembered. Added. Same can be said for Omnium Gatherum. Added.

I'll take a look at the rest, too. Thanks.

It might be good enough to warrant favorite of the year so far. This is a great album. The Sax is awesome.

Brickwalled to hell, wayyyyy too bright for Dissection, the first and second no longer flow into each other (The End added a couple second gap after the intro)

If anyone actually wants to hear the mutilation, message me for "details"

So we're suppose to find the original Cd and records?

There's the original CD for under 20 USD. Though GOOD LUCK on finding an original LP. Hundreds of dollars.

EDIT: Also, DR wise, the reissue vs the original look almost exactly the same...At least on the CD.

Waiting for the Ash Borer + Fell Voices gig atm. 15min till doors open, so excited!

Their blog says they should have the cold of ages lp finally eith them. And that Bloodlands -ep. Though I don't know how that would be possible since the first two test pressings have been rejected according to the publisher's blog.

That's weird because when A+B checked it is blatantly worse, and I am not very good at the whole A+B thing normally (256kbps sounds the same as FLAC)

Just goes to show numbers aren't everything I guess.

You guys might not be huge SYL fans, but man this boxset looks SICK. I'm trying to get info on where it's being pressed...

The only Strapping Young Lad CD i have is The New Black, and i dont even like it all that much. Well i like the instrumentals quite a bit but the vocals do almost nothing for me. But damn does that boxset look amazing. the clear vinyl version looks so freaking cool

They're not outrageously expensive either. Clear version comes with the shirt and signed poster. It's 225. The splatter version comes without those 2 but still includes the extra 7" and TT Mat (dgaf) for 200.

There's only going to be 150 of the Clear and 200 of the Splatter.

While I'm not a huge fan, these prices are reasonable, and I have a friend who is way into them. It'll worth it just for him to come over and enjoy it with me. Plus, I'm a sucker for a good box set.

Thats true, 225 for all those CDs is pretty ridiculous actually. When the pre order goes up for it, ill have to see what my wallet is feeling like. Ive been buying entirely too many LPs recently as it is :/
