This one of the very few Christmas sounding songs that I can put up with. I also feel it captures the true spirit of this time of year. To all who celebrate, merry Christmas.

It may not be metal but it was done by a very metal band:

Happy Holidays everyone, and please...let's get back to the classics when it comes to Christmas tunes:

Going through Dave's list now and plan to buy every release he's talked about so far. Vinyl where available. They're all great so far.

Katatonia - Dead End Kings (180g)
Borknagar - The Olden Domain (180g)
Dethklok - Dethalbum II (180g Picture Disc)
Dethklok - Dethalbum III (Etched Virgin Side, 180g)

What's with the pic disc :o? I personally have not heard a good sounding picture disc. The inner layers have always come through the grooves. You would have the proper disc with that shopping cart, though :D

Edit: oh oh, II and III, they're different. Oh?

Yeah they're 2 different albums. There's 3 Dethalbum releases now. I kind of agree on pic discs, but it still sounds better than the CD a lot of the time.

My man! That's what I'm talking about. I think you're really going to appreciate our upcoming weekly series highlighting great metal on vinyl.

Still a lot from your list to get. Ended up putting back Gojira because it was so expensive. $50 for vinyl. Eff that.

This guy with the tube channel, LordGloomed, posts some really interesting and powerful stuff from time to time. I think he digitizes his casettes and obscure vinyl just to let others hear these wonderful songs.

Yeah I had no idea that you (Dave) were the Dave I've seen around. Nice to make that connection. I'll be looking for that weekly special for sure. Modern vinyl is a sea to wade through and modern Metal vinyl I imagine is even harder...so being pointed towards good sounding albums on vinyl will be fantastic.

Small update. I only got to listen to the new Borknagar album I bought last night (ran out of time before bed) and while I enjoyed it (minus the lack of flow) the actual sound of the album was pretty mediocre. No impact at all, and it all kind of sounded jumbled and flat. Still a good album overall and a nice introduction back in Metal.

Listening to Neurotech now (someone posted about them in your 'What's Your Top 10?' on Metal-Fi and it was free) and liking it. Very melodic stuff.

That was Matt and definitely an off the beat pick, really appreciate he contributed to the site.

Just ordered this one, too. Old favorite that I haven't listened to in quite some time. If nothing else the cover art is stunning.

Are you talking about the CD or the vinyl?
