ooh boy...

Ayreon:  Sounds like the bad songs on a late 80's early 90's Pink Floyd record....

Pain of Salvation:  Is this the new Korn album?  Oh wait no, it's the theme to an anime show...  And now there's some Faith No More style rapping, oh joy.

Into Eternity: ok during the verse parts, where it's more straight forward, but it reminds me of the bad industrial metal that was being shoved down everyone's throats in the late nighties.  And the clean singing, oof....

But yea, no hard feelings (I know, "no hard feelings isn't metal"). There's still something likable about you even though your taste in music is second rate.

HA!

To that I give you:

Haha, I'm just jabbing at you, fool. Don't get paranoid on me.

Serious music posting time.

Dark Star, good early NWOBHM with a nice touch of UFO with the guitarmonies in the solos.

Sorcery, NWOBHM with a healthy dose of arena rock, reminds me of a serious Spinal Tap.  The video is from an obscure movie called "Stunt Rock" that they were featured in.

Omen,  mid 80's American NWOBHM worship.

Guys the new Kamelot is a big improvement over Poetry. Dave or I will be reviewing it soon. But check out the official video.

I'm loving Silverthorn.... But better than Poetry? Dunno. Epica > Poetry > Silverthorn, imo.

Sacrimony, Ashesh to Ashes, Torn, Veritas, My Confession, and Falling Like The Fahrenheit are all excellent.

The bonus track - Grace - is quite strange, though.

Review should be up this week. I also *just* got a big underground black metal release that everyone should check out as well.

Just got to deal with "Sandy"....

Btw, Negakinu...hurricanes are definitely metal.

underrated

Last night was one of those magical nights where you get to see a band you'd seen before, but forgot their name, so you could never order a record, or tell anyone about them.  Windhand from Richmond, VA.  Female fronted doom, I heard people describe them as an american version of Electric Wizard, I think that's a pretty good description.  My ears are still ringing.

I love Anathema too. New record is beautiful. I don't get how sh1t like Coldplay is playing sold out arenas and Anathema still plays the tiny clubs.

Anathema isn't catchy. Simple.
