Did you see the context of the conversation? I shared some metalcore, black metal, nu metal, and so on, and most of it was too extreme for him. Some of those Tristania tracks may also be too extreme for his tastes.

haha-I lost track along the way-it's been a long back and forth thread between you gys. I'm just amusing as I have done this myself-when recommending metal to someone who either isn't a fan or a little curious it's easy to give them stuff that is on the less metal side. For the non-metal listener, maybe they've heard radio friendly Metallica and think, "I like metal". Well, let's talk about this.....

He actually told me privately that this thread is hard to keep up with.

I must wonder how many people actually benefit from posts we work hard on (like past playlists of mine), since in a matter of hours, they can already be pages back from the current conversation.

What I usually do when introducing someone to metal genres (or any genres, for that matter) is showcase a little bit of everything, so it's easier to get a feel for what you like best. But he only wanted Christian bands, which drastically limits the selection. Looks like we're slowly warming him up to everything else, at least.

Not really that I'm "warming up to them", like I said, I will listen to non-Christian music, just not anti-Christian. At the end of the day I still prefer Christian bands like Demon Hunter and Wolves at the Gate.
Working on your list right now, I'll finish it tomorrow most likely.
For now I'll leave my most recent purchase here:
