Yes, please.

PS: It's pretty good. no, really.
The logo is the best part.

I remember hearing their album from last year. It was strange, to say the least.

New Revocation announced. Let's hope they bounce back from their last one which I thought was borderline awful.

Really? I love that album. Archfiend is such a great song. I know its not groundbreaking or anything, but I thought it was a solid album. I doubt he's going to go very far out of the box. David Davidson is pretty straight-forward in his style, but I'm a big fan.

I'm just hoping that the new Electric Wizard album doesn't suck ****, because the last one was an abomination of epic proportions. I've heard that it is sounding better so far.

That is a great song, but the album is meh compared to the prior few IMO.

Yeah, last album was awful. Except one song, Dyers Eve :)

I'm a little surprised you weren't already into vader! I got in at de profundiis in 95, and they instantly scratched that band that's been as consistent as vader over all these years

And happy canada day to all you Canadian head bangers \m/

No, you're totally right. I somehow just always passed them by. I'm an anomaly.  Most of my friends don't listen to metal. I've always just like it.

I had a "bad attitude" about DM until a few years ago.  But, then I finally must broke down and starting listening to different stuff and realized that a lot of it really wasn't to far away from a heavier thrash. Maybe some stuff like At the Gates and The Haunted. And, the prog influences of Opeth, and various bands Martin Van Drunen was in all of which I really enjoy.

BM I can take with all kinds of extremity, but some brutal DM makes me tune out. Other so called brutal DM I like right away. But, I need some kind of a hook or way to get inside what can at first feel like an impenetrable fortress. And, good old fashioned slayer riffs are a good entry for me.

So, I probably heard Vader, DM, and I thought nah. But, I didn't realize how good there were.

I tend to be more open minded now!

If you enjoy this, then you should run to the Thorns record.

New Thorns? Ok! Ya it was a little tuff at first till I figured out it was more of a logical progression for the band. More true than the last album Mayhem put out. So reviews say that the guitar player is not at his total potential but I figure he is trying to fit in and not disturb the old timers in the band. Hellhammer is recorded well, Necrobucher has some bass solos and Atilla well, he is over the top as always.

Teloch has carried the sound of Blasphemer into our common times. For such a gift I am grateful, they did well.

I will look for Thorns, maybe the second time someone said the two bands share a sound. Weird because I don't know how someone could sound like the 2014 Mayhem?

Unfortunately, not new Thorns. The original Thorns record.

interesting....you are certainly a metal encyclopedia Trog!   I had to go back to the Thorns record, otherwise i never would've made the comparison, i haven't listened to it in a while!  I suspect Thorns will be hard to find but anyone who does should really pick it up, it's an honest masterpiece and very experimental, especially considering the time frame (1st wave).

Redcar, I still think that Atilla's unhinged performance on Esoteric Warfare is quite possibly the greatest BM vocal show ever done.  This has been a landmark year in metal IMO

I don't like the new Wolves in the Throne Room album.
And with that I mean that I don't like the direction they went.
The music is alright.....reminds me of the Mass Effect series :P

Ya i streamed that one track, I can't say i thought it was great.  There's better dark ambient out there...but it is an interesting direction and considering the absolute flood of "post BM" coming out right now, I think it's a fair switch up to make to try and distance themselves from the scene.
