(I don't care if I have posted this before....deserves more attention!)

You are not new to Metal music! You should be familiar with this color palette :P
Managed to find the big white play-button though?

not bad, not bad....i find it a touch generic (like a lot of the new post-BM) but overall enjoyable and considering it's "free", everyone here should at least check it out.  thanks for the tip!

Anyone who can say something about the sound of the new Insomnium album? Bad mixing again? I might just get the vinyl and hope it's at least decent.
The reviews seem overly positive so far and two of my friends were pretty much blown away after the first listen. I'm excited! :-D

Hmm the album itself is pretty good.
Reminds me of their older stuff.
But the sound...meh :-/
The intro track sounds downright horrible. The rest sounds a bit better but still anything but good.

Are the Insomnium albums really considered as being bad mixed, or only specific ones? I own three so far and the new one is still on the way to my home.

They did a better job with those, compared to most of my 100 cd's. The dynamics may arent high, but the bass guitar for example is very audible. An attribute I can only attest to a very few (metal) albums I heard so far.

"Since the day it all came down" also sounds very clear to my ears. And the following ones arent that much worse, if at all.

Anybody already owning the new "The Great Old ones" album? Damn, that sounds nice. I even got the pin I had hoped for :D

It really is awful and embarrassing on several levels.

Looks like at least the dynamic range has been decimated on all their albums.

The DR is totally average. The sound not so much. Like I said, sub-par at best.
