What? You are listening to music through your effect pedal?

I bought my brother one of these for his birthday:

Zoom knows their stuff.

Well, it is a DAW interface too. Not really the greatest on headphones but more clear than I thought. So when you record you can overdub and monitor what your recording. USB is only 44.1/16 bit so most likely your Brother is recording in higher Rez. Still this thing has great metal patches and old Zoom 9002 DSP distortions from a lifetime ago.rolleyes.gif

I feel 2014 has been a little slow with solid metal releases (maybe its just me) but I think we have an album which would feature on multiple top ten year end lists:

I just picked this up today and have been listening along with War on Drugs (totally not metal).

Agree with all the raves on the new Trypticon. I like it a lot more than their first album, and I thought the first release was really good at the time.  It's a real tour de force. The first album felt like a doom album in some ways-which is cool-I love doom. This just feels more cohesive, more varied in style and mood(s). I really like the production. Once in my crappy van stereo (if something sounds good in my van-it must be REALLY good cause the sound sucks)  and once on my stereo and with HP's. A lot of really interesting twists and nuances.  If it weren't for the vocals which I very much like-I think it might appeal to a lot of non metal fans as well. Just a really good, dark album.

I'm looking forward to checking out Morbus Chron based on a of praise here and elsewhere...and Opeth.

The new tryptikon is so good. Like humble-all-the-bandcamp-hipsters good. \m/

The new morbus chron is kinda like the last gorguts, a well recorded experimental death record. I bet you'll like it
