psycroptic are WAY more death metal, while lamb of god have more thrash and core influences (IMO of course)
I like both bands, I would definitely say I much prefer LoG (one of my favourite metal bands actually) except that they are so different to me it's not a choice

Oh, and randy Blythe has far better vocals, no question LOL

Probably my second favorite Genesis album.
Nothing beats Selling England By The Pound!

Listened to this absolutely amazing band the whole day while renovating my room. Only thing that kept me from going insane.
getting hold of their CDs is so bloody expensive...so far I paid around $200 for three CDs plus shipping.
Totally worth it ♥

There is no bad song on Selling England. On LP the sound is astounding (holy hell it's a W. Germany press...)

I don't really know where to draw the line between modal and free jazz :/
I would classify them as a Free Jazz orchestra with a bit of Ska tossed in.

Shibusashirazu features some of Japans greatest Free Jazz artists and has one of the most amazing live shows ever. i would sell my soul to see them live one day...

I would agree-more free jazz-that kind of chaotic avant style. I just use Miles Davis Kind of Blue as the ultimate reference point for modal jazz and this is pretty far removed from that smooth, laid back but intense style.

The reason I felt that was, I felt Psycroptic to be a more faster, technical death version of Lamb Of God. Not comparing the vocals though.. I am talking specifically with respect to their last album. Could be just my head.

I place this kind of music as "just before metal" and listen to a song of it here and there. Atomic Rooster is another around when Sabbath took it slightly farther.
