Do you still have the LCD-3s?

Thats why I decided to get one and a better amp in house, so I can do a better comparison than just at a meet, and for longer. I will definitely keep you informed.

Nah, I sold the LCD-3s when I ditched my headphone gear a year ago to go speakers. I'm not really sure I could do orthos anymore. They are just too uncomfortable for long term listening.

Have you tried the Vegan pair? I honestly have no issue with them (well it depends on what you mean by long term listening).

It wasn't about the ear pads, I really didn't like the headband design. When they switched from the flat pads of the LCD2 to the angled pads of the 3s, they didn't redesign the headband at all, which meant that the headband would sit at an angle with just an edge being against your head rather than lying flat. I couldn't really get over that.

It's the smallest things

Its true. Part of it really has to do with little things. For most of the TOTL cans there is something I don't like about them. Like the LCD-3s, I explained above. With the HE-6s, there are too many people that have had failures and had to send them back, along with them feeling cheap and being like creaky and such cause of the plastic construction. Even with the 009s, there are the balance issues, and everything else that goes along with have electrostats, you really have to decide if all of that is worth it. The 800s really are the only TOTL headphone that has a nearly spotless track record for quality and immense comfort.

But alas, I haven't had any troubles with my 009s, I am excited to get to compare them to the 800s though.

anyways, maybe we should get back on topic :o

Not to mention, for some reason the treble on the 800s has never bothered me, now the 700s...thats a different story, I literally start getting a headache within like 10 minutes of putting those cyber grados on my head

HAHAHA, the 700s comment is hilarious Soup's. You made my day! Also, the Momentum is probably the biggest misnomer for a headphone EVER.

I liked the HD800s, but in the end, I liked the LCD-3's more. Honestly, either one you can't go wrong. I mean c'mon...

Not so surprisingly those comments are spiraling to pointless insults

What happened?

EDIT: Just to be clear, I am not a big fan of the HD700 or Momentus. I have heard both extensively and I think neither are really leaders in their respective segments. The HD800 on the other hand I OWNed for about half a year. Awesome can, but has its weaknesses (as do all cans, my current LCD-3 I would describe as darkish).

I still miss my blue Qualia's.

It's like arguing with the tea party. And more on the subject, Massacre's Back From Beyond is great but painful to listen to

EDIT: Every song on Back From Beyond is almost exactly the same it seems. Pacing, patterns, tone, eesh....
