Yep, right off. out of the gate. They felt that it added to the intensity, they said in the included DVD studio report.

Haha, Nails' "Unsilent Death" does the same. Great little technique, IMO.

Recorded 1968

"The live recording of Poppy Nogood and the Phantom Band All Night Flight taken from a 1968 concert titled "Purple Modal Strobe Ecstasy with the Daughters of Destruction" is the perfect trigger for what anthropologist Jean Rouch called 'The Strange Mechanism,' the trance state which most of this decade's electronic music aspires to induce. The immediacy and the spectral filigree--the dervishes summoned during Riley's nocturnal concert--have been faithfully preserved on this CD." - Richard Henderson

Yup, those are the girls. I saw them (as many folks did) opening up for Agalloch. I thought they were trippy. New record has Wrest on it too.

Cool good to know. I was about to watch the dvd but then some non metal heads wanted to watch tv, and well I generally lose that argument.

Holy HELL Soup! THANK YOU for this.

I think I am going to write a quick rant about this one and Causalities of Cool.

EDIT: Just donated to the cause. Awesome sauce!

I feel so old, I have no idea who that is. But excitement is contagious

Protest the Hero crowd funded their last album and it's stellar, maybe I'll join this hype train too

I concur. Never heard of this band before, but their video and cause convinced me. Gojira with more atmosphere? Count me in.

Medication for a melancholy-induced morning (in order of appearance):

Tool - Lateralus, tubes, HD700, blue cheese, pepsi, poop (do not eat).

A solid combo!

Great stuff. The Agalloch vibe is off the charts.
