Speaking of Benighted anyone buy Carnivore Sublime? Mine showed up a few days ago from a gohastings preorder. Its pretty awesome but its recording kind of sucks. It gets a Dynamic Range of 4.

Overall I like Carnivore Sublime over Asylum Cave, but I really like some of the songs off of Asylum Cave.

Review will be up soon.

Btw, we added Metal-Fi Bandcamp page if anyone is interested or if you are just looking for new music.

Man the more i listen to The Satanist the more amazing it gets. I think that Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer and In the Absence ov Light are my favorites off the record

By the way, spotted the Heartwork full dynamics remaster at a store. Nice (a bit pricey, though IIRC - whatever the price was). I haven't really kept up with the news, so I thought it was going to be digital-only.

I just posted a bunch of stuff I've been listening to on the "what are you listening to" thread. This is kind of off topic, but I've been buying a schiit ton of traditional classic jazz...something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I'm finding that my experience listening to off kilter, experimental, even avant garde metal prog (talking about bands like Sigh, Unexpect, Kayo Dot, Swans-Ok they're not metal...but even DEP and Ihsahn, weird black metal like Blut Aus Nord and DSO) have sort of prepared me for a lot of the jazz I've been listening to....it feels like a natural fit...after all both genres reward technical skill, experimentation and virtuosity.

Hmm.. Please list out the names of the jazz albums that you are currently listening to...

So I got Cattle Decapitation Harvest Floor yesterday. Its a pretty good album, but it is just not as good as Monolith of Inhumanity. I like it better than Humanure though, and you could definitely hear the direction they were heading. As Monolith of Inhumanity sounds like a more improved version of Harvest Floor. Harvest Floor is excellent, but its almost too much like Monolith of Inhumanity. Which causes the problem of listening to a similar but worse album, and begs the question to why not just listen to the better album? So I probably give it more listening once I have listened to Monolith of Humanity too much.

It is a great album if you like Catltle Decapitation, it just gets too overshadowed by Monolith of Inhumanity for me. Needless to say I am very excited for their next album in 2015. If they continue to progress the sound they are working on, the new album is going to be killer.

It does have genuine pig squeals right from the get go.

Most of us who have a mild interest in this vegetarian/activist band realize their videos are trying to show human beings treated they way we treat animals. Their videos are the most radical in the genre or any genre for that matter.

The only videos that come close are from the Southern California band Kettle Cadaver, just because that stuff is completely real.

In all fairness, The Harvest Floor did come first. And while I can see how Monolith if Inhumanity could be considered better on a technical level - at least production wise - it doesn't grab me by the balls the way The Harvest Floor does. Then again, I've been listening to The Harvest Floor quite regularly since it was released (/unleashed) 5 years ago, so it did have a bit of a head start for me. Also, there's no 'Regret & the Grave' on Monolith... :)

Either way, if you ever get the chance to see Cattle Decapitation live (if you haven't already), be sure not to miss them.

Gonna have to agree to disagree with you. Travis took those haunting "clean" vocals too far in Monolith IMO
