Then u get two audio casettes , load - metallica and aerosmith - big ones.

Wont u find load cooler than all other music that u have listened up untill that point.

I am not saying that is my favorite metallica album or that i like st anger.. But u get the picture

Haven't heard of Metallica...hmmm?

Play nice boys or no recess for you.

Tho-it's hard for me to imagine that anyone remotely interested in heavy rock music of any kind has never heard Metallica.

Way back in the 80's I was college-yeah that is possible-I was working in the school cafeteria in Boston...Bahston. I remember working with some young inner city dudes (read-African American kids who were not shall we say overly exposed to culture outside of their home environment). I was astonished in the 80's mind you, that these guys had never, and I mean never heard of the .....

Beatles!

...really!?

Well, at the end of the day I guess we're all just products of our environment, culture and generation which is why I made sure my daughter saw Rocky, LOTR and Star Wars....

however, at 14-I spare her Satanic Noriegan BM:veryevil:

I say listen to Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets and then check out some Darkthrone.

I would say Kill 'em All, Reign in Blood, Rust in Peace. Repeat ad nauseum.

P.S, I hate headphones that emphasize the bass for the sake of it, drowning out everything else. I even sent back the dt770 80ohm because of that problem.

Guess what I should have said is, I like iron maiden/megadeth/iced earth(which I do alot) only and hate any type of metal that came there after. Thank you for the recommendations though, I am waiting on the phidelio x1 coming back down in price on amazon UK it was £150 a week ago and back up to £180.

Why are you looking at the X1 if you don't like bassy headphones? I've never heard them, but the main thing I've read about them is that they have tons of bass. Check out Grado or AKG if you want tighter, lighter bass with good mids and lots of treble.

I think the album is fine and I don't regret ordering it. I also think that this is kind of "the next step" for this band but still......
*sigh*
It's the Heritage-dilemma all over again.
I wanted them to do more Les Voyages de l'âme stuff! That's one of my all time top 5 albums...
But what I got now is a nice but kind of replaceable Shoegaze album with Neiges amazing vocals.
*sigh²*

I just listened to it this morning and those were pretty much my thoughts exactly. Voix Sereines was great, but that was the only track that stood out to me. The rest were nice but forgettable at best.

I haven't seen these guys mentioned yet. One of my new favorite stoner/jam bands.

Ha-ha!!!

No worries, I'm just a aging hipster, stoner doom, Sunbather loving post rock  poser wrapped in a used to be metal head enigma.

Schiit I just bought new music from chvrches, Boards of Canada, Deerhunter and savages.

I can't even play in the same league.

But, I do luv loud, socially unacceptable music and enjoy all your BM posts..

Who knows, I might even own a few in my collection.

I just don't want to sacrifice virgins, or burn churches...someone's gotta do the dirty work for the rest of us

And, if I ever ran into you accidentally in a fjord burning an upside down cross, reciting secret runes speaking in tongues, I'd probably piss in my pants:veryevil:

That's a great picture BTW

True. All of the greats of the 80's have been letting us down for years. Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth.... but on a positive note, there have been solid releases by Anthrax and Testament in the past few years. I don't think we'll ever have a period like 79-89 ever again as far as bands putting out several classics back to back. I mean, with the exception of the first 4-5 Opeth albums, how often do you see a series of releases like Kill 'em All-->Ride the Lightning-->Master of Puppets-->And Justice. Or So far, So Good-->Peace Sells-->Youthenasia. Just doesn't happen too often.

Maybe it's just the time in our lives when we heard those albums, maybe they were truly great, I don't know. I just try to evaluate each disc one by one these days and not play favorites. I did enjoy Death Magnetic, just not to the level I enjoyed And Justice.
