I am the only one on the planet that prefers Paragon to Vale (though I love both).

No, I know how that could happen. Paragon has a sound and slow psychedelic monolithic speed. Vale may be more "happy"?? Can you even say that? Well at any rate, Vale is a more tight and complete album but I have to say I also thought Paragon was "bigger" at times. Actually Paragon is more dramatic. They really complement each other anyway.

Esoteric is in the end........................err................esoteric.wink.gif

Yes, you really do need to be prepared with these two records. You need to be alone and maybe in the dark, with an uninterrupted hour where you can start to get your head around what your hearing. These are not maybe music to drive to work listening to. In the end you just slow down and let the pure power and complete art of the music unfold like a block-buster movie. They are truly our masters of their genre and even transcend with the music into a single world of their own.

Yea agreed. They are both phenomenal. And Paragon was my 2nd or 3rd favorite album in 2011.

I'm always thinking I don't spend enough time with the two records. I should break em out tonight! Funny they would come up in this thread, I saw one of the two yesterday and thought "I should play that?"gs1000.gif

It may be the fact that they require a little participation. There is a little work involved in listening to an Esoteric album. IMO.

They lazy thing is to play some cheesy metal that needs no thought...........like Primal Fear. lol.

Ya but they only have one album. Yes, one soon to follow-up, still Obscura have four records out if you count the demo and cover comp.. There great in other ways too.IMO.Maybe because I was into these records before? Still Beyond Creation are just starting. Someone also needs to chime in if they have seen either live. I have not? I just like this guitar.

Also of course time will tell when BCs new album comes out. Hard to beat their 1st record.I hope they do though.rolleyes.gif

Agreed. I am not saying I don't like Obscura or Necrophagist or Gorod or Gorguts or Hour Of Penance or Anomalous or Brought By Pain or Monumental Torment or Spawn of Possession or The Faceless or Vale of Pnath

Right now I like BEYOND CREATION the most.
