My first impression is-interesting....good even but not as rewarding as their past work or for that matter the new CUL. CUL for me is a great combination of challenging metal that also mesmerizing and has an emotional pay off. I feel similar to Deathspell Omega. I like them; enjoy the intellectual thought put into their lyrics and packaging, but at the same time the idea of the music is more interesting to me than the way it sounds. I feel the same way about Salome. I like all these kind of avante guard bands. But, at the end of the day-the music has to hold its own rather than be a "cool idea"......just not sure yet.

Teeth is a grower, just trust me on this. It will grow and grow and grow.... (well at least for me)

I'm really enjoying the album as well. The vinyl edition sounds great.

I like the new one as its rather wacky and i like the samples etc.The production could have been better. They are very unique.the singer is ill with mental health issues

This is pretty awesome. I'm actually starting to take a shine to this style.

I really don't know anything about this band...just listened to two songs and they souded rather solid. Nothing special though.

Is the new Horseback "album" just some kind of compilation?
http://horseback.bandcamp.com/releases
If so, it's a really really really long one.
(The titletrack is mindnumbing as all hell)

What's odd Tom is that I have a love/hate relationship with Horseback. Some of their stuff is fantastic, and some other stuff....not so much...

Oh, I also like only maybe 20% of their songs....that's just normal I guess.
I mean, not liking each and every song of a band. Hmm lets take Dream Theater as an example. I almost exclusively listen to their instrumental songs and the super long ones (Octavarium, Six Degrees etc).

What's the connection?

Edit: I just read that Greg Chandler helped them with the record. I haven't heard any Esoteric before, to be honest. I'm guessing they must be good, eh?

Have to mention the one album before, as being the end-all Esoteric record.
