That brings back memories. I have both their second and third albums as picture disks. They sound like an AM radio playing in a bathroom down the hall.

Gota love em.

Windir is pretty good.
Their vocalist died the most grim and frostbitten death ever.
Sucks that he died so young, but at least he died super trve :/

I love Windir. Also check out Mistur, which has at least 1 member in common with Windir.

Yup, the guitarist Storm it appears.  Windir are one of my all time favorites. Vreid is the band that formed with the remaining members after their singer died...I think they actually had a new release a few months back. Vreid are decent (and very different), but it will never match how epic Windir were...so it's good to hear his work in Mistur, as it's a better successor to Windir IMO.  Thanks for the recommendation!

Not a problem. I think the above album is extremely good. Some very creative and catchy guitar work for black metal. Vocals are close to what you would hear on Windir which is great. The icing on the cake is that it sounds quite good sonically. Good dynamics, instrument separation and frequency range. Makes it very immersive combined with the atmospheric sounds throughout the album. By the way, you can get the CD from a seller on Ebay. I couldn't find it for the longest time but it finally appeared.

Windir was amazing. As for X-tian black metal, you can't possibly think ideology overrides musicianship, correct? Our opinions and their opinions are irrelevant when it comes to music production.

Yeah of course :)
Unless you read the lyrics of lets say Antestors songs, you would never know that they are a christian band.

Little late but I loved the new Amon Amarth. They're definitely a bit up and down for me, but albums like this and WOOOS (lol) remind me why I love them.

Runes to My Memory may always be my favorite track of theirs.

Like the new Summoning as well.
