Earwax - Page 3

I had a bad earwax impaction in my right ear about three years ago. I had just moved to a different city, so I went to a different general practitioner than I had used in the past. (General practitioner = doctor = physician = MD.) He recommended ear candling. I was shocked. Not in a good way. I no longer go to that general practitioner. I ended up going to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor (MD), and she cleared it up just fine.

ive used Hydrogen-peroxide to clean my ears...

I just dip the tip of a Qtip and worked around the ear canal...i do this with my ear FACING DOWNWARDS. Just in case a drop of the HP comes off the qtip, it will NOT drain deeper into my ear.

I let the HP work its magic...you can hear it bubbling up in your ear, then with the other side of the qtip, i clean up the excess, with a tissue to finish the job.

Qtips are for cleaning AROUND the ear canal, not the DEEP ear drum. If you push the qtip towards your brain, you fail.

I have used 1% HP drops for a few weeks then flushed with a syringe containing water as recommend by my doctor. Worked very well for me.

Sometimes I get a tickling sensation in my ears, then I put my finger in and its like water in there! Maybe its to break down some of the wax... Anyone else had this before? Maybe I'm just more highly evolved

I go to a doctor every so often and have them clean it.

sometimes they use peroxide 'fizzy stuff' (lol) and sometimes some Pointed Stick(tm) kind of device. scary, but my dr. seems to know what she's doing.

the things they can pull out (with the non-liquid method) is amazing. I'll leave it at that.

go to a dr. and have them do their best cleaning. it really is better than you can ever do yourself (simple reason, you can't SEE into your own ear!)

I've pushed them into my ear pretty far and I've never brained my damage.
