You guys are to blame ... ordered SCL3's!

I couldn't resist the urge to take advantage of GuitarCenter.com and the white Shure SCL3 for only $59 + free shipping + sales tax (if you have a GC in your state).

In the past week, I've nearly bit on PL-30s, then nearly on NE-7Ms, then nearly on something else. But when I read about the SCL3 & 4 on sale at GuitarCenter.com, and reading that the SCL3 has a fuller signature than the 4s, I figured "I can live with white" for only $60!!

After they come in, and I've pink-noised them for a couple of days, I'll let you know what I think -- I hope I like them!

I've heard white noise works better.

The pink noise WILL NOT DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

I believe the SCL3s have balanced armature drivers and do not require burn-in.

Thanks for the info -- I'm finding there is TONS of info here in lots of different forums, and after digging around here some, I see that you are right. I'm new to higher-end IEMs, and need to learn about the different types.

you have no one to blame but yourself for buying something, what exactly are you blaming for? there appears to be no purpose to this thread...

I hear outlining your tips with a green marker is better than any white or pink noise you use to burn-in the IEMs.
