Had these on backorder out of curiosity, but thanks to the OP mainly because I didn't really need them, and it saved me $84. I believe they are decent enough phones, but the lack of bottom end and analytical character is something I don't need. After all, I already have the Altec-Lansing IM716s, which are an excellent phone along those lines.

foamies will get more bass, maybe more sibilance depending on the foam but offer a fuller sound. i use those orange bullet shaped earplugs, cut up and hole-punched for fit: no sibiliance but great bass on phones not know for much quanitity: audio technica ck10

Does anybody know if I can return the SCL4 after opening it for a full refund?
For those who still want the SCL4 for $80, the deal is back on guitarcenter.com.
