Skullcandy: Skullcrushers Vs. Lowrider? - Page 6

Skullcandy's are like most of the women I meet. They look pleasing aesthetically, but that beauty is only skin deep. Their personalities are horrible.

I don't even consider them pleasant to the eye. Skullcandies look rather funny to me and compared to my MDR V6-es they look rather 'pimped.' The Creative Aurvana Live looks quite stylish, if you consider shiny black and silver and a simple design to be enough.

Okay maybe pleasing isn't the right word. Unique would be the word. lol

Alright lets compare these with Denon's AH-D7000. LOL

I think the word you are looking for is "plastic".

I have auditioned the lowriders recently for a few days. They have almost no bass impact compared to even my MS1 (surprising cause its skullcandy). The mids sound like tin foil and the highs are crystal but way overdone and fatuging. Just very plasticky. Soundstage and imaging is actually pretty good for $40. They can handle lots of volume and blast all day. Nothing too special.

I havent heard the skullcrushers but my friend at school said they "hit hard".

In general, I tell my non-audiophile buddies to go with JVC, KOSS, cheap Senn's, mabey certain Sony's if they are spending low amounts of money. A select few Skull candys are competitive at the department stores, but in general you can get
much better for the price IF you do your research and audition lots of phones, buy online, etc...

I have a pair of skullcrushers... the name is true.

I own a pair of Lowriders and it's safe to say in my opinion they are very solid headphones, not too expensive, reasonably comfortable, very good bass, decent noise cancelling abilities, had them for 2 years now and no problems with breaking like most Skullcandy products.... i'd say the lowriders, Skullcrushers have too much head pressure, the bass distorts & vibrates too much and they're annoying to listen to... however they leak a lot less than the lowriders and are quite comfortable.

Most people think that Skullcandies are poor quality headphones for twelve year olds who only care about appearence... i agree with them to some extent

I got my TiTANs for $23 off amazon. Once your ears have adjusted to their horribly uncomfortable design, they are pretty decent IEMs. I don't notice I'm wearing them anymore.
I would never buy any other SC product. Over priced, uncomfortable things and below acceptable sound, IMO.

Reason I got my TiTANs:
Right ear on my 202s got a short. I had to wait for a replacement. My last pair of IEMs broke and I like to have a pair handy.
Its hard finding $20 IEMs that won't fall apart or short after a few months. SC has a >>limited lifetime warranty<<

I do not see any other SC product worth it even at a huge discount (including aviators). There will always be way better headphones for the same price.
So, if it came down to a SC product vs a SC product, you did something wrong.
