My HD650s/Total Airhead put a smile on my face every time, great, great sound.

No I think you nailed it in that you did say you might be over stating it.

I would characterize it as warmish, and lacking in easy sophistication. But that would be describing it as wine, when it's really just a good beer.

But the AirHead/BitHead will get you by with any headphone for a while; it's a worthy little helper.

Absolutly Tyll, I love mine for its intended use, travel. I take this thing everywhere I go, and my roommate takes it too if I let him!!! Having the Micro stack with higher quality cables for it and the headphones allow me to realize what a great deal the Airhead/Bithead really are. I did not think it possible to have that good a sound for around $280.00, Airhead/Grado SR80s. You've got my roommate thinking about buying one because at the price, it cant be beat. Cant wait for the new line up, even if it is a ways off
