I'm in Canada too, so I know it's hard to find good brands in retail stores, but it's possible.

Here's my suggestions, starting from the best :

- Shure SRH440 (between 100$ and 120$ at Future Shop)
This one is simply amazing for the price!

- Bose Circum AEFR (100$ at Future Shop)
(Around-Ear Factory Refurbished) at this price, it's very good.

- Pioneer SE-M390 (90$ at Future Shop)
Pretty decent headphone, confortable and well balanced sound.

- Philips SHP2500 (30$ at Wal-Mart)
It's not a joke, this is a very good sounding headphone, but the plastic construction is a little bit cheap.
