I'm currently deciding on a new pair of headphones for my Zune (the "premium" ones that came with it have run their course) since I want something much more high quality. I'm undecided between these Zagg Z.Buds and Etymotic HF-5. I know Taikero has reviewed both... which would you suggest? Are the Etymotics not worth the 150 price tag?

The HF5 and the Z.Buds are entirely different phones. The Z.Buds sound very warm and dark, with plenty of bass and mids to go around. Treble is detailed but rolled off due to the strength of the lower end of this phone.

The HF5 is a very energetic, responsive, and clarity-focused IEM. They have a very natural and accurate bass response, even if it's somewhat low on the volume/impact side. The mids are neutral, and the highs are sweet, crisp, super-detailed, have no hint of sibilance, and are unlikely to sound "piercing" or "shrill".

Either phone is worth their price tag, but it really depends on what you want to hear in the end, just like some people like dark chocolate and others like white chocolate, even if one is 10 times more expensive than the other.
