I love to see that too, but that would go against the rules of Team Intra-aural.

Now an earbud comparison - that would be just fine.

Anyway, congratulations on another successful IEM Shootout!

I am not into big cans so...

Planning on a random earbuds comparison as we speak, but not sure how I am going to write it out. Thanks btw.

As always, ClieOS, you da MAN! Great reviews... 36 great reviews! I'd love to see you review AKG's IP2 as you begin V.3. Any chance?

Depends on whether I can find them reasonably priced locally or not. AKG is not that popular here and can be hard to find sometime.

Very useful information, looking forward to a v3 should you decide to do one.

Hi ClieOS,
your efforts are REALLY appreciated for someone (like me) who is looking for the best quality/value IEM with universal fit. After much reading I am leaning towards the HeadDirect RE0.
When my budget permits I will be looking at the JH13 pro, but that will just have to wait for now
Many thanks and please keep up your contributions

Glad the review helps. I am still planning for the v3 as I am probably going to receive several pairs of IEM for review in the upcoming month. I am also planning to revise the v1 to conform with the v2 rating system (which will also carried to v3). It will be a lot of work.

Or if someone will be willing to let you borrow theirs...

Glad to hear. I've always liked your reviews, very useful, very much appreciated by a lot of folks on this forum and beyond.

Thanks. Can I borrow everything you have? Joking. I can do an one time review on borrowed headphone. But for a long running review like these, comparing IEM based on memory is not ideal.

Wow just stumbled on the Head Direct RE3/RE252 mini review.

This sounds really promising
Hopefully you can include this in your upcoming review?
I know.......all work and no play............
Again many thanks

Great job ClieOS!

Do you still feel the TF10 Pro is a great IEM? How would you compare to either Westone 3 or UM3x?

My audition with W3 and UM3X was too brief to make any concrete judgment, but as far as impression goes: I feel that UM3X is about the same level as TF10 and SE530. Perhaps there are some pros and cons here and there, but I don't find UM3X to be a noticeable step up from the rest of the top-tiers. As for W3, all I felt was disappointment during the audition. I genuinely find it to be a step down from the top-tiers, and perhaps on par or even worst than UM2 (but I didn't have UM2 at the time to make an actual comparison).

These are all just impression based on a brief audition, so take them with a grain of salt.

Hello, this is actually my first post on this forum, but i read a lot of topics today, so now all these reviews got me wandering .

At the moment I own a set of cx300 but i find the bass too booming and also the microphonics quiet irritating .

Anyway I listen mostly to blues, jazz, acid jazz, sometimes hard rock, even metal and other music genres less often.

My budget is also limited since I'm a student . So the pl-50 and the ne-6 which I read are ne-7 w/o the mic any other IEMs in that range?
I guess the pl-50 with the free shipping would cost like the ne-6 with the 20$ shipping charge. Since the impedance of the pl-50 is higher they'd theoretically do better with an amp or not?

Theoretically, yes. But in practice PL-50 is efficient enough not to need an amp. However, if you do go for an amp with PL-50, you'll get a slightly better extension on both end (assuming the amp is up to par). One thing about PL-50 slightly higher impedance is that it is less prone to hissing from the source, if that's a concern.

So do you have any suggestions of what IEMs should i get in that price range for the above mentioned music genres?
