No, this has nothing to do with crossfeed itself and I have rather observed it ocassionally without crossfeed but can't remember on which recordings just now. What I can remember it is reduced with crossfeed. This theme popped up in association to your mention of visceral sound and pushing on the ear.

mmm...do you meen that it's as if the crossfeed adds some acoustic logic to the error?

BTW, i've added and edited a few things in the review now
