DAC/Amp + native USB for ~$500? Between EMU 0404 USB and Benchmark DAC1

I'm looking for a DAC/Amp combo that also has a native USB input (i.e. no internal USB to S/PDIF conversion).

I currently use EMU 0404 USB for this purpose, and consider it an entry-level audiophile system. The Benchmark DAC1 is a high-end system.

Is there a DAC/Amp/nativeUSB combo that can be called a mid-range system? In other words, better than EMU 0404 USB but not as good as DAC1. Price range around or less than $500.
