I bought the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 around a year ago. The left channel died but the speakers are fine. A replacement subwoofer now costs more than what I paid for the whole set when I bought it and I don't have warranty. What is my best option?

I bought these puppies just before Christmas and they have been a revelation. I can't tell you how much they suit my listening tastes. I love close listening with lots of treble and tight...

It's very small player, so I like it. I have Clip+ since Christmas and I'm very satisfied!

First of all let me say this is one of my favourite BA driver earphones I have ever heard. That said, being a basshead, these didn't deliver in the bass department - I can't deny the fact...

I've had this card for quite a while now, and I have to say its a really nice card - a huge step-up to my on-board motherboard's audio. At first I do have to admit, it didn't feel like the D1...

Long story short: These earbuds, shouldn't ever be bought, when they come free in your iPod package, its fine to look at them, and try them on. If you know someone wanting to buy these,...

Have you done any troubleshooting to figure out what's wrong? It could be as simple as a soldered connection breaking loose. A quick touchup with a soldering iron would take minutes. If you have a screwdriver and a camera, open it up, take some photos and start a thread in the DIY Forum. With any luck, your problem will get pinned down and resolved.
Also, are you sure you're out of warranty? If you used a credit card to buy it, you might be under an extended warranty.
Barring either of those, you might be able to incorporate a different sub with the drivers. It doesn't have to be the same brand.

If you can't figure out what's wrong with the current setup and you don't want to get another sub with the same specs, I would toss the speakers out. If I'm not mistaken, the crossover network for the speakers might be in the sub. If it is, you'll have to figure out the proper crossover point and slope characteristics to properly integrate a different sub with those speakers.

Don't throw it out yet! I agree with Uncle Erik, open it up and look for broken solder joints. If there isn't anything obvious, take pictures of the internals and post it in the DIY forum, you could very well fix the problem yourself. Did it have any sort of warranty?
