sennheiser cx300, cx400, or other newer ones?

I found out I'll be getting the sennheiser cx300 for one of my christmas gifts and I was wondering if it was asymmetrical or symmetrical styled IEMs? I hate the asymmetrical ones so if the cx300s are asymmetrical I would like to know what to exchange them with on boxing day. Also, are the cx400s symmetrical with better sound quality? What about any other newer models that I should look at?

I think they are both asymmetrical and symmetrical versions on the market, but I could be wrong. The CX 95 I have is symmetrical, and they are a considerable step up over the CX 300. They are not too expensive either.

I personally like J-cords as I can pull them out and let the longer cord hang around my neck. I hate stuffing them into my pocket. But I can live with either style.

Yeah I hate stuffing things into my pockets too. But I was hoping they would come with a small case but no descriptions say that.

The CX300s are J-corded. And I think the CX95s are diproportionately priced, relative to their improvement from the CX300s. But hey, if your CX300s are free, why not? Can you switch brands or are you stuck with Sennheiser?
