Well in my endless search for best custom iem's here is what they said about custom westone 3.

"Thank you for your inquiry. We are not currently looking to manufacture a custom version of the Westone 3. If you were to be interested in our custom fit products, the ES2 would be the best choice. Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Yeah, I got the same response. That's why I ordered UM56 sleeves. Should be here this week.

The ES2 is way better. The ES2 has fuller mids, more natural tone to the mids, better detail, more refined highs, and better controlled bass. The only area where the W3 could be better than the ES2 is in soundstage - the ES2 has a relatively small soundstage, bigger than the ER-4S but smaller than the E500. However the ES2 is also better at imaging, and its soundstage has more depth and height. It's also a very forward-sounding IEM, Grado-like though without the painful highs. The W3 is a lot more laid-back.

Different ball game entirely, and seeing how the ES2 is only $250 more than the W3 at the moment and pretty much doesn't need an amp, I'd say it's a good buy.

The UE11 is said to be an upgraded ES2 with more detail and better performance at the frequency extremes. I guess that's my next IEM.

Well, it is common practice for companies to deny knowledge of WIP (Work In Progress) products, whether they knw of them or not. Wouldn't want crazy rumors and anticipation to cannibalize their profit on their current products!
