Do you go to restaurants and movies by yourself? (Not just for loners.) - Page 4

There is nothing wrong with eating out alone. However, don't think about a funny joke and laugh out loud alone. It just doesn't look right.

The idea of eating out or going to a movie alone has always appealed to me, mostly because I can make decisions without having to consult with others, but for some reason, I never do it. I suppose it comes down to the fact that whenever I would go out alone, there are always friends doing something too, so I just choose that option instead.

I certainly don't have a problem with what people may think of me. If they want to judge me, that's their problem.

Every now and then I do. Maybe for a quick meal, or just a nice quiet time to get some work done or relax for a bit. Previously would be J.J. Cafe in Irvine for me.

For movies, I think I would, if it's one I personally really want to see, and none of my friends are interested/timing doesn't work out. However, the ones that interest me, usually aren't showing in theaters here.

I usually eat by myself between classes at school, but I guess that's normal. When I go out to eat, it's pretty much always a group thing. If I do happen to go eat somewhere by myself, I usually get it to go and head home. I don't know if it's a self conscious thing or if I just like the comfort of home; it's just always the way I've done it :\

Eating alone? Sometimes. Breakfast in a restaurant while grading papers. Lunch if I'm out and about running errands. Dinner, only when travelling or the family is away.

Movies. That's a group thing for me, but I might go to a movie alone if it is one that I really want to see and there is no one to go with me. When I'm travelling alone, I may go to a movie (I'm a film junky).

I think that restaurant dining is nicer with friends and the same for movies. But sometimes I'm without my entourage, so I go solo. So it goes.

No and no.

And I rarely go out to movies any longer, anyway. I wait until the movie I want to see is out on DVD, and then buy it on sale; it's about the same price nowadays as the cost of the ticket, plus I get to keep the thing.

Yes, to both.
More often go to restaurants than movies on my own though.

actually many people go for movies not to watch the movies..but for an outing with friends.

In big cities like in New York, etc...I notice people alone. Sometimes I would walk by a restaruant or cafe and notice someone eating alone, even an attractive girl. She's all alone but then again, she could be a hooker.

I can't say I've ever done either. I feel like it would be awkward to wait for your food by yourself at a restaurant. Grab and go is a different matter though.

I went to watch The Village alone, and I was the only one in the cinema that night !

That's probably because it wasn't a good movie.

I usually do everything alone, and I enjoy it. Not to say I don't enjoy going with friends, I treasure those times too. But being alone gives me so much more freedom to do what I want. Maybe I am a loner afterall. I don't see myself as one though.
