driving my sleeks with a minibox-e+

so far, the soundstage has improved, with detailed, crisp highs.....though if using the new treble ++ port, the highs are VERY harsh and fatiguing

I'll be posting a review of these within a week or so

I use the SA6 with RSA Hornet, a very nice combo.

Bump... I'd be interested in reading about other experiences about amping + SA6, so please feel free to share.

I am currently using them with a 120Gb iPod Classic unamped but have ordered the cheap Fiio E5 to give it a try. This might be a temporary solution and I will be looking to these new/recent small amps such as the iBasso T4, Pico Slim, RSA Shadow, etc. for the future.

Listening from my i-mod and the TTVJ -Millet Hybrid portable makes a significant improvement with the SA6 !!!!

Thanks for sharing. I know this may sound stupid, but when you say "significant improvement", how significant is that exactly? E.g. does the bass extends much deeper, is it more powerful, etc.?

Now that I received and tried a Fiio E5, I find myself struggling to find the need for an amp for my SA6, but I am sure you will correct me. These are only first impressions, but the sound became just too warm to my ears without (apparently) any additional benefit. Maybe there is a burn-in period? Maybe the Fiio does only deliver a 1/10th of the quality of your amp?

I am just starting to wonder if I should not just allocate the budget of an amp to a pair of Sleek Customs (after sale of my SA6)...

Wider soundstage, more dynamic.

These 2 are a match made in heaven. Bass is awesome. Impactful-Immediate and Articulate.

As 1 poster put it transparent to the amp. I find the SA6s to be delightfully neutral.
Agreed

Using a Headamp Pico with my CT6 and I am very pleased. Just received my Sleeks last night. More as I get used to them.

Possible to give more impression about the pairing of the pico with the ct6 ??
Interested to hear how the pico helps/improves

I ordered my CT6 with bass+ and Treble= (as they recommended on the phone) and so far I am very pleased with the combo. The Pico has been "seasoning" using a mix of Apple lossless and AAC 256 fixed at 44.1 for a few weeks. The CT6 with and without the pico? Using the same 2G ipod touch the ipods audio alone is not as focused. The Pico brings the music into sharper focus. I have only been listening since last night so I will leave it at that. They look very sharp in clear and black. Sleek got my ear anatomy right on the first try. Fit is comfy without itch. Fit and finish is great and we shall see how the rather thin wires wear.
