MB Quart heaven

I've had my QP240's for a little over a week and I'm in love. These are so clear I can hear piano benches creak when listening to classical, shoes shuffle on stage in live rock, and jazz is amazing. I compared these to a pair of AKG K240 and well these are better in every respect. I think I may have found "THE" headphone for me.

Yes, it's a shame that MB Quart seems to have thrown in the towel on headphones.

MB Quart is rebranded as German Maestro.
See German MAESTRO - Powered by MAESTRO Badenia
It looks like they make the same headphones, now with the German Maestro name and partly different model numbers.

Aside from GM, last week I ordered a MB Quart QP 250. Looking forward to them.

Ahh, I see. It was disturbing when Maxxsonics redesigned the website, and all the headphone stuff disappeared.

And where was our Willi to reassure us? on vacation in spain no doubt.

so, Charter Oak is probably still selling an OEM version of the QP450 in the US.

This is good news. I was very sad to see MB Quart headphone products disappear from the old site.

I have never heard the QP240, but I picked up a set of QP400 recently, and they are quite good sounding. There is a spike in the upper mids/treble that can be irritating depending on what I am listening to, but they are certainly good headphones, and completely worth what I paid. Certainly about the most comfortable headphones I have worn.

I have noticed no spike in my 240's. If you can find a pair I would snap them up these are a sweet can.

I need a new closed headphone so I'm looking forward to your impressions.

I'm not a big fan of the QP250. I've got a NOS pair from another headfi-er who had two. The pleather (?) pads boost the bass, but kill the treble. Putting my QP55X pads on there, the bass disappears and the treble comes right out. I'm guessing I'm just going to have to go with my original plan to shell out for the QP400s, along with a re-cable for best results.

If the QP240 is the successor to the 55Xs, then I understand why they sound good. Apart from the rather piercing treble and the mod that needs fixing to get bass, they sound rather decent.

The spike on the QP400 is the sort of thing that I dont notice at all with some music, but bothers me with other. Kinda like my K701 actually. Meh, if I want good mids, I will just reach for one of my orthos.

I'm pondering what the result would be of putting a Denon D5000 cable on a pair of, well, any of them. Might be interesting.
