Have you ever try it? Is it small, Is it truly portable? Would it improve the sound of any portable cdp with digital output?

"DAC-MAN will be both smaller and more affordable(Don't know if affordable is the right term for this price-range) than DAC-in-the-box. So now everyone should be able to get a separate DAC. This DAC has a strict minimum of features. There is a toslink and a coaxial input where the active one is automatically chosen. The reciever is a CS8412 and the DAC itself in the new CS4330. The analog output cables has been designed by Tara Labs."

I use one with a Sony E-j915 player, and it is quite an improvement. The Dac itself is a bit largrer than a portable minidisc recorder, and has a wall-worty power supply.

i've got one, and i use it with my cd-rom drive. it sounds quite pleasant. it's not made for portable use, but it wouldn't be very hard to modify it to make it portable.
