I'm using them unamped from my Zune 80 at the moment, almost positive I'm going to get a NuForce Icon Mobile in the foreseeable future though, if I do I'll probably post a review. (HeadphoneAddict is going to do a review on it in a few days when he finishes his burn-in, looking forward to it!)

I'm very happy i bought W3's and will be extremely happy if they last me a couple of years.. which i think they will because of the top-notch build quality (Specially the Cable!)
IMO if you wear them at the gym all the time, all the fantastic build quality in the world wont help to make them last a couple of years. IEM's + moisture(sweat) = BAD . moisture will get inside and kill them; there is no way to let the sound out and not let the moisture in. It may not happen straight away, but it will almost certainly happen IMO. i'm not saying you will do this, but I see posts here regularly, complaining about how their very expensive earphones have such terrible build quality, because they only lasted 6 months. Even after they stated that they wear them at the gym every day or never tug on the cable 'that hard'

Just to make it clear with everybody, here's what I have on my iPod right now :

1- Dream Theater - Scenes From A Memory
2- Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
3- Opeth - Watershed
4- Opeth - Damnation
5- Riverside - Second Life Syndrome
6- Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
7- Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet
8- Steven Wilson - Insurgentes
9- Rush - Test For Echo
10- Cynic - Traced In Air
11- Enslaved - Vertebrae
12- Liquid Tension Experiment
13- Fates Warning - FWX
14- Mars Volta - Frances The Mute
15- Agalloch - The White EP
16- Pink Floyd - The Wall
17- Radiohead - OK Computer
18- Marillion - Happiness Is The Road
19- Daylight Dies - Lost To The Living
20- Epica - The Divine Conspiracy

Heavy enough ?
Not heavy enough for me. You posted some progressive rock classics but they are not something I would consider heavy or hard. Think Slayer, Dimmu Borgir, Celtic Frost, Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, Sepultura, etc.

I have a lot of the albums posted and they are very good but I am a bit more varied in my tastes. So far it seems that the W3 does NOT excel at fast paced, hard and heavy music.

I have not heard the W3 yet so I am going by what I am reading.

You can fill out the warranty card online or mail in for 1 additional year. I would do it online and I wouldn't wait real long. That's my opinion anyway...I filled it out online the first day I had them.

I like extremes my friend.

Kind of surprised you did not dip your mug into the barrel of Kool-Aid and take a swig yet Rob.

I.E - A Internet shop with a huge stock of 'other' brand IEM ;-)

Not that I'm saying other IEM are not as equally good or possible even better but alot of people who'm are lucky enough to have been able to afford alot of IEM say w3's are the best they have heard.

And they sound so well balanced the only way I could hear my dance music better is if I was surrounded by a group of pro-drummers.

Preferably naked women drummers

Thank you.
correct me if i'm wrong you just take the card, fill it out and send it out. my question is when.
Rico67 ans Screwglue,

You have 2 options:

a) Internet Registration over at Westone

or

b) Just fill out the card and mail that in

If you have any problems with that just shoot us an email and we will be glad to help.

The card that came with should be filled out an mailed right away..am I right??. I don't think you wait a year then send it in...registering your w3's right away..extends your warranty for a year. If you didn't get a card with them..you could just go to westone website and register the w3's.

I have some slayer (god hates us all) slipknot (wait and bleed) killing joke, carcass, mudhoney, helmet, primus, fudgetunnel any of this do it for you?? slayer is as close to metal as I like to go, so havent got too much in the way of crossover. I also have the SE530 so can maybe include some heavy stuff in the review i'm putting together. any of these in particular you would like me to use in the playlist.\?? please only a couple of tracks I dont want my list to be too huge and I want to cover a wide range of genres as my taste covers the gammut pretty well. so far I just did a quick little swap between the SE530 and W3 on 'god hates us all' and the W3 handles it possibly better than the SE530, which was a surprise. I mean I really like these W3's but not great with 100% of my music earlier today I came accross killing Joke's self titled am=lbum of a couple of years ago and I thpought of you so I played it I have to say I was impressed these little babies are so dynamic they handle dave grohl's double kick drum with ease, while still reproducing the bass/lead guitar and demonic, guttural, screams .......nice

Haha, so it's not heavy enough ? Ok I'll try them tonight with Immortal and Emperor to see if they can handle fast music
