i only have one word to say...
AWESOME!

Here is my short impression..

Comfort:
The first thing i noticed when i wore them was... Oh So Comfy!
i thought they will be big but they are so small! (and my ears aren't big!)
i have tried the default clear tips + medium and large foam tips and i like both the medium and large ones... (time will tell which one i choose, also ordering medium Olives soon)
can totally sleep wearing them!

SQ: (with PC using 'ASUS built-in SupremeFX II 8-CH Audio Card')
For now, i have tried classical, rock, pop & B (Bollywood soundtracks)
first impressions --> they suite all damn genres!
i can't find a song in which i can hear the 'SSSSSSibilance' some of you guys were talking about (good for me :P)

superb detail (detailed, clean & crispy highs + smooth and silky mids)
superb bass (deep deep deep accurate & punchy bass and not at all overpowering)

The more i listen to them the more i like them!!
even at low volume they produce superb sound and when i pump up the volume just a little, I'm in Bliss!!
have yet to find anything wrong with them...
looking forward to taking them to gym today

Thank you Westone! and thank all of you guys who shared all the great reviews/impressions that made wanna buy W3's! (Seriously, don't hate you guys for making me spend my money )
I'm very happy i bought W3's and will be extremely happy if they last me a couple of years.. which i think they will because of the top-notch build quality (Specially the Cable!)

Haha, glad your fingers are safe More importantly, I'm happy that you really enjoy your 3's. I pretty much feel the same way as you do about them. I think after I upgrade my amp/dac just a bit and maybe pick up a portable player, I can free my wallet from head-fi for at least a year . I may be back in a year or so to pick up some full sized cans to warm up my ears because I'll be living a little more inland and tiny bit further north than I am currently, so I could probably use some full ear lovin'. But I'll save that journey for when I move to Dallas..until then, I'll be in my happy little world with my 3's and my wallet will be able to recover from its own financial crisis of these past few years

I am using NWZ-A728 (8GB) with my Westone 3's..
They sound slightly warmer with my NWZ-A728 than my PC (and Touch HD).
NWZ-A728 has some enhancements that I'm starting to enjoy with W3's (particularly Clear Stereo & DSEE(Sound Enhance))
W3's sound incredible with my PC but a portable player will probably require an amp to get the best out of W3's.

I'm using my A829 with the W3 and agree about the warm sound signature.

But I think the clear stereo only works with the stock buds?

W3's are Brilliant and anyone who would dis-agree either has not listened to them or is not truely listening to them or has another motive.

I.E - A Internet shop with a huge stock of 'other' brand IEM ;-)

Not that I'm saying other IEM are not as equally good or possible even better but alot of people who'm are lucky enough to have been able to afford alot of IEM say w3's are the best they have heard.

And they sound so well balanced the only way I could hear my dance music better is if I was surrounded by a group of pro-drummers.

Preferably naked women drummers

Clear Stereo works with W3's.. In fact, it works better with W3's than with the stock earbuds.
it lifts the sound image just a little and slightly separates the left and right channels (makes a gap "Right Between Your Ears" ) aka a little wider sound stage? (if that makes any sense )

Hey guys, I just got my westone 3's and I have to say they are AWESOME.

The highs were a bit piercing at first since I was used to be super fi. 5 eb's. I have to say this earphone is awesome. The cables are soooooo soft compared to the ue ones.

The cables are sort of unbraiding but I just had to twist is back, is it just me or is it normal?

And when I saw the westone 3's in real life I noticed the red triangles on the earphones actually prints "3". I thought it was a random of formation of triangles .

I didn't know it worked with anything else other than the stock buds. Now I'll have to try it

The cable on my 3s doesn't unbraid unless I twist them between my fingers, and they'll go right back to where they were if I let go. I was wondering exactly the same thing about the "3" on the side, thought it was some weird symbol and had no idea why they chose it until someone explained in this thread.

I've gone through kanye west cd, nickelback, ataris, and about to try some christmas songs.

call my lazy but I don't want to read 71 pages of this stuff haha. so what eartips do you use? which sounds best? I loved my comply foam tips on my super .fi eb's but i'm liking the olives atm the most. the triple flange is cool but looks retarded haha.

Are most people using their W3s amped or unamped?
