I own a pair of Shure SE530's, I used to own a pair of Westone UM2's. The best way I have found to get the tips off is this. For reference I am right handed. I hold the driver housing in my left hand, tightly pinching it between my thumb and my first finger, (sometimes I'll add my third finger for a better grip) make sure as you are looking down at what you are doing the tip is pointing to the right of you. Anyway use your right hand fingers, index and thumb and gripping the tip twist very slowly and patiently towards the front of you. You are only moving your right hand. If you are twisting both your right hand and your left hand you are more likely to break the plastic tube. Just keep the driver stationary and in one position in your left hand, and use your right hand to do the twisting and you shouldn't have any problems. The key is to take it slow, and be very patient. I have never broke any of the IEMS I own but I can only imagine how much it would suck considering how expensive they are.
