Having Trouble Getting Sound to Output Via USB DAC

So I just bought a NuForce icon. I connected it, as instructed, and it was recognised by the PC no problem.

When I try to play an audio file in Foobar with asio4all, however, nothing. No sound coming through my headphones at all. If I connect them via the front jack on the PC then, all of a sudden, sound!

I think the problem lies with my Realtek HD Audio manager.

Here's what things are looking like in Control Panel:

USB Audio DAC? Great! That's what things should be looking like, right?

In Realtek Audio Manager:

Still showing output via speakers with no option for USB

I tried disabling Realtek HD Audio and doing a restart but that just stopped sound outputting via everything, ordinary jacks and USB DAC.

Suggestions?

Ok update, I got sound to output by changing the output device from Asio4All to USB DAC in Foobar.

Is sound now going through the kMixer though?

Since Asio4All is no longer selected?

Most likely.

You need to determine if ASIO4all actually works with the Icon unit. I don't have an Icon, but always seemed to have some type of issue with it back when I used windows. I usually got it to work, but it took a lot of finagling. I ended up paying for the the USB-ASIO driver, which worked a lot smoother. Now on the Mac, I don't need any of that, but thats another flame-ridden set of threads.

Fixed.

Just needed some fiddling about with settings in Foobar.
