Man If you can't trust a guy with such good feedback who can you trust
hope everything gets resolved for you man, I had problems with an ebay seller a while back so I empathize with your situation.

I'm sorry to hear that it turned out this way. I don't understand why anyone would throw away his credibility for $240. But then again, this is the same person from last time. He might be come back again if he gets away free.

If you have his address, I reckon, call him on the phone and see if something hasn't happened. I think a thread being present here with his name and contact details should wake him up if he's screwed up deliberately. He might have screwed up and gotten himself into a panic where he's too scared to do anything. I get the impression that this happens quite a bit with young people and online trades.

This has been my experience as well. Though I'm young myself too, a lot of others I know really don't seem to take online trades that seriously, mostly though, it's winning an auction then deciding they don't want it. I've found this a big annoyance when it's happened to me, but at least they're not deliberately cheating someone out of money.

Even at 20-21 I'm sure his parents would get pretty angry about something like this if you can get hold of them. It really is a good way to go IME

Good luck.

Apparently the Lange's don't answer their phone. I have his number, and perhaps the threat of spreading his number around the forum so that he has to hide from multiple phone harrassments is the way to set him straight. Just for the record, the amp he stole from Skylab was my amp (on permanent loan to Skylab) too. He (Nick) was supposed to be the first loanee in a loaner/review program that Skylab presided over for all our US based head-fiers that qualified.

Nick, if you're reading this, one of us will get you. Hopefully it is me - I will then teach you a lesson or two about the consequences of stealing from others. In the meanwhile, I hope can'tsleep and skylab throw the book at you. Can'tsleep - PM me for the Lange's phone number if you want it. You definitely qualify as one eligible for it.

Here's a link to his phone number: WhitePages.ca - Canadian Online Directory Assistance

Good luck with this, cantsleep. Don't worry about the impact of your pressing charges on his future - he obviously doesn't care about it. Nail him to the wall and we all win with one less scammer on the net.

BEWARE OF SCAMMER: Nick Lange, aka Nick20, UWisconsin77...

****DO NOT do business with Nick Lange from Florida!******

Nick Lange asked to "borrow" my Purity Audio Caliente to audition it before buying it. He had bought some stuff from me before without issue, so I reluctantly agreed. He did not return it, and has not replied to any of my PM's or emails since.

Nick stole this amp from me, plain and simple. He has done this to other people as well - see these threads:

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f12/uwisconsin77-382241/
http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f12/ni...ml#post4767945

After scamming me, and others, he changed his Head-fi ID from "Nick20" to "UWisconsin77".

BEWARE!
I hate to see this happen with anyone, but especially with a member who has pages and pages of excellent feedback. Makes me more leery of dealing with head-fi every day.

I hear of IP bans bandied about on here, but this seems to be an ideal candidate. Rather than take responsibility for what he's done, he flees to another username.

Skylab, I hope this gets resolved satisfactorily, and soon.
Oh dear, I'm very sorry for you Skylab! Thank you very much for the heads up. It's very disgusting that such people uses the good will and helping spirit of the good people in this site to plainly steal and deceive.
Maybe the mods and administration can do something to help you. Good luck mate.

Oh dear!
Full name and address in the link you posted. May be worth contacting the local police.

I will definitely stay clear!

Wow, sorry buddy, for someone one like you who has given so much to these boards, to be taken advantage of, makes me pretty sick. If I were you, I would try to pursue some legal action. At minimum, this sick SOB might realize that what they are doing is illegal and wrong. take care.

just read this too:

What a shame *shakes head*

BTW: phone # and address in other thread. Google maps has street view of it too.

Edit: for the lazy- http://www.whitepages.com/search/Fin...caltime=survey

Maybe you should call the household up and tell on Nick. Looks like he lives with mommy and daddy still.

Yeah, it's really not cool. I trusted this guy, and he took advantage of that. And what REALLY gets my goat is that under his "new" Head-fi moniker of UWisconsin77, he even has the nerve to list the Caliente he stole from me in his profile!!!! Unbelievable.
