be aware of UWisconsin77

i bought an amp from UWisconsin77 about 3weeks ago.
he pmed me on 11-08-08 that the amp will be sent.
ever since then, i havent heard anything from him;
doesnt respond pms or emails

anyone know about UWisconsin77?
something happened to him?

I remember his threads. Send him a few more e-mails. If he doesn't respond, find his other buyers and ask if they have received anything yet. If others are experiencing similar situations then you should consult PayPal or your credit card company.

i sent him a personal check so i cant file a dispute.
maybe i shouldnt even bother and just file a police report..

Sorry to hear! specially if they are one and the same. What kind of amp did you buy? I ask because an amp was loaned to Nick20 by Skylab which ne never got back. I would hope he was not selling it to you.

Same dud. That's dude without an e. One of the IP addresses matches. A police report would be in order at this point. Or perhaps a phone call to mommy and daddy would help?

If you mailed it to him, file a complaint with the Postmaster General for mail fraud. Also try putting a stop order on the check and see if you can get any information on where your check was deposited. If he deposited your check into a bank account, that can be helpful.

UWisconsin77 IS nick20.

Few months ago, I dealt with nick20 and I remember his Paypal address name was "Nick Lange." I bought something from him a few months ago, he told me sent it, but I never received it. After many weeks and many excuses, I filed a Paypal dispute. Eventually I received all my money back, but it was only because Paypal sided with me.

Sorry to hear.

Call your bank and stop the check.

Send this dude another email...just to let him know that you know who he is...and this is the last warning before you report him.

But

Report him anyway.

how does someone go from 4 pages of perfect feedback to stealing someone's amp and ripping off other head-fiers.

no excuse.

sorry to hear about your troubles james. try asking your bank to do a chargeback. tell them the transaction was a fraud.

I've made some PM with Nick20 months ago and my impression was that he was a good guy.
Really strange why he did this.

Disturbing news. I swapped my headphones with Nick and he was very pleasant and responsive person to deal with. I guess I'm lucky that my trade was one of his last positive ones. I wonder what are his motives ? Scamming on Head-Fi with such a long feedback will bite you in the ass for sure, too many people have your PayPal and home address. He seems to have stopped posting after that little Orlando meeting. I wonder what went so wrong after that ?
