i don't understand why they call it a dock. it's nothing more than a firewire-to-proprietary port adapter....

I just meant it basically converts from a proprietery port to standard one(s).
Some docks in fact don't even do that. I had a Dell that basically existed for lazy people as the ports were exactly what was on the laptop. Course some add functionality, etc.

hmmmm.... now that i think of it.... with this thing, you could hook up two ipods up to eachother.... maybe some software hack would allow file sharing between ipods??
