The button works, but no need for the mic. Yes, you can use the Touch as an iPhone via Wifi, but you have to jailbreak the Touch 2G first, and I don't believe that technology has been released yet. Only Touch 1G can be converted to iPhone-type usage (though it is much, much more restrictive, and no text messaging, etc.). However, you can IM using the Touch. My daughter does it all the time.

Anyway, the 7 button does work, but I find it a little too sensitive/unpredictable. I find the Griffin iTalk with regular phones a better alternative.

Never mind...I should stick with the NE-7Ms.

I have both. They're great for different purposes.

I like the NE-7M in the subway for my iPhone 3G because it's easy to take in and out and no fuss in putting away.

I have the E4C and they really really need foam tips for me to shine and is not really practical on the go.

In terms of SQ, the E4C is far more detailed and robust in all the frequency range. However, the NE-7M isn't exactly bad either and it beats the E4C for convenience because of the mic and remote and ease of use in removing and putting in my ear.

I'm thinking about picking up the HF2 though because I love the sound of the ER6i and these are supposed to be ER6i++ with iPhone 3G remote/mic features.

I'd go for SQ over convenience. Isolation is critical to me. While the NE-7M sounds like a great budget pair, if the SCL4 beats it across the entire frequency range, then I made the right decision.

geez...... i cant wait for my NE-7 from amazon.... hope it would sound better than mylarone x3i and shure e4c which i both have

got my ne-7m today, quite impressed, although i expect they to improve with burn in. I have no trouble getting a seal with the silicone tips, but there were some small black foamies included in my box which I feel provided the best seal. I actually bought mine from their office building in person today to save on shipping, and when I walked back in to inquire about buying more foam tips, I was told they had discontinued the foam tips because they were not up to par, which is why some of you may not have them included. I, however, found no problems with the foam tips included with my pair. Jason also informed me they're talking to Comply about supplying tips to include with the phones. So far they sound really good though. I'll post more when anything develops.

Oh if the E4c is more detailed than the NE-7M, i'll have to rethink my decision to buy these budget canalphones, but I don't know if HeadphoneAddict would agree with that statement, as he rates the nuforce higher than both the E4c and SE310.

Unamped the NE-7M are probably without much doubt better, but it has been a while since I have heard the SE310 and E4c that I sold last year. However, at the time I only kept the Denon C700 vs the Shures because the C700 and SE530 un-amped performance with a 2G and 3G nano was better. The E4c never gave me a "wow" experience, while I liked the SE310 better than the E4c.

With the OEM rubber tips, the E4C sounds okay so so to me, with the T100 tips, they sound much much better, at least to my ears and beats the NE-7M as far as detail and soundstage go, for me.

The NE-7M I'm using though without Comply tips but just the rubber tips so it's not really a fair comparison. Even with the rubber tips, I find the sound very pleasing and not lacking in anyway especially on the move.

Hmmm, I might have to cancel my GF's order and stick with the NE-7M's since the SCL4's seem to not be exactly what I want in an IEM...

Larry (HeadphoneAddict) - I just wanted to say thank you very much for this thread and for your efforts in general. I would not have known about the NE-7M's otherwise and I'm very happy with my pair. They sound great.

I think NuForce very successfully hit their goal of offering a quality IEM that is very competitive in the $150 and under range.

No problem!

I'm sitting here on Makena Beach Maui listening to Jack Johnson with 4G nano and NE-7M and in heaven... Still can't get over how good they are with Shure E2c silicone tips.

Well this sucks. Apparently once I got my Yuin OK2 I tossed my Shure e2c out, along with the silicone tips. What's odd is in my Shure case I have the Sony EX70. I have no idea why I kept those but tossed the e2c. Anyways, my NE-7M still hasn't arrived yet. Would anybody be able to recommend some suitable tips? I hear a lot of people talk about Comply, but they're foam so I assume they're only good for a couple of uses?

HeadphoneAddict: It seems you have a lot of experience under your belt. I'm thinking of getting a pair of these based on the the favorable reviews in this thread, but I can't help but think that I can get much higher quality sound buying full sized headphones for around the same price. Based on your own opinions and even from hearsay, is this true?

Hey HA, one question.
How's the isolation with the silicon tips as I plan to buy one of the Nuforces rather soon (can't decide, I got concerns about both >.<).
Would it be better with the Shure foamies?

Say (might be a silly question but) if I wanted a DT880-like sound, which one should I go for out of them?
