Sorry, never heard the SE420, but I do like the NE-7M more than the SE310 and E4c that I had before, although those were not bad IEM themselves. I just prefer these.

It's strange, but the whole flight to Maui today I used the NE-7M with Shure E2c black silicone tips, because I had to insert and remove them a lot to speak with my family and my Westone 3 with custom molded UM-56 tips are too hard to do quick insert and removals 30 times over 7 hours. They still managed to keep me entertained and block engine noise, and my son got to use my ATH-ANC7 instead. Now, in the hotel room I am enjoying the Westone 3 while everyone has gone to bed.

I just bought the NE-7M's based on this thread and the thread I posted about what I should do with the Amazon $75 gift card I got for Xmas. I've been using Marshmallows for months now so I can't wait for the sound that people here are talking about.

Wow really? IMO, the E4C is substantially better than the NE-7M but I do have Comply's on the E4C and just the large oem plugs on the NE-7M.

I've been debating getting the Comply's for the NE-7M and I think I will. The Comply's drastically improved the signature of the E4C for me.

I got a pair of NE-7M's yesterday. Right out of the box - with the plastic tips - the highs were kind of chalky, mids kinda shouty, not much bass, etc., which was not particularly surprising with no time on 'em.

After an hour or two on them, and using the supplied foam tips, they were sounding much, much better. After about 12 hours they sound great. NuForce says they need at least 24 hours of run-in so I expect I'll be very happy at 24+.

I'd recommend using the foam tips.

Hmmm not sure if mine came with foam tips...

Mine were wrapped up tight and taped into a tiny plastic bag. Hopefully yours are rattling around in the box.

I got mine yesterday after owning the denon c751s for about 3 months. Some cds i had were just unlistenable with the denons because of the treble on my ipod touch. No suitable eq setting would fix it either. First impressions with the ne-7s were "wow, thats a lot more midrange than i am used to"! It didnt sound bad, but it was just up front... One thing that always bothered me about the denons is that they added treble to instruments that wouldnt normally have it... Bass pedal hits and acoustic guitar strums always sounded overly bright. After all day listening to the ne-7ms things are smoothing out nicely and headphoneaddict was spot on... These are definitely better! Thank you so much headphoneaddict for your impressions and while they are subjective opinions, they really are a guide to great music reproduction, which is while we are all here...

my family is getting mad at me cause every time i walk by, i remind them how good these headphones sound...hehe... The amount of isolation is way more than i expected too! At the point of being dangerous if you were out in public!

After reading the comments and this review I am thinking about canceling my amazon order for the Griffon Smarttalk and the Sennheiser CX400 for NE-7M. But before I do does anybody know if the mic and pause/skip/playback functions will work with the iPod Touch 2G? and how does the NUFORCE NE-7M compare with the Sennheiser CX400? It looks like the NUFORCE NE-7M blows Sennheiser CX400 out of the water but I just need to make sure.

I am listening to them on the touch 2g now, and the button is a welcome addition. 1 click pause and unpause 2 clicks skip, and 3 clicks previous track. I had the cx300 before i had my denon c751s and the sennheisers were garbage in comparison... I really think if you fork out the 50+ bucks, you will be impressed...

My CX400 are no comparison to the NE-7M.

I have a Touch 2G as well and I'm looking forward to the button. Also, did you know that using the Truphone app for Ipod Touch allows you to make VOIP calls using the microphone?

I just hope the Nuforce team bundled those foam tips for me because I hear some people got foam tips and some didn't. I find that odd.

I am definitely going to order a pair of the NE-7M. Just need to confirm the cancellation on the CX400, hope there are no fees and Im sure the NE-7M mic works with the 2G touch but can anyone confirm it? Thanks
