Can some kind sole advise me on the current situation with shure E500 split cable returns?

I meant soul btw

I bought some brand new sealed E500's on ebay nearly exactly 1 year ago and the cable has split on both sides.

My code is '2436 E500' does this mean they were manufactured in 06 and thus out of warranty? Even though they are only really 11 months old.

Also does anyone know shures UK point of contact to ask them about my situation?

If you bought them on eBay I'm going to wager a guess that they weren't from an authorized reseller. You probably won't be able to do anything here. DIY time!

oh yeh your earphones were manufactured on the 243rd day of 2006. contact shure uk distribution and ask them how to go about getting them exchanged, provided you have proof of purchase you should be ok. if you have no proof they might be a bit funny because going by the cable date your earphones are out of warranty, so you may very well need proof of purchase.

if they do indeed replace them for you ask for a up to date model with the newer cables and you will find the new cables dont stiffen up like the old ones and shouldnt crack provided you look after them.

email this person, his name is maged moussa. he dealt with me when my 2006 earphones split, it took me 4 days to send mine off and get them replaced, the service i received was nothing short of perfect.

Thanks Jinx, I have emailed them with a screen shot of my paypal reciept, this is all I have of the transaction so I hope thats ok with them.

no worries bigsy, you may have to print that screenshot off and send it in with your earphones.
