My Fiio's interconnect broke.

I'm wondering how I should replace it. I can try sending it back to DealExtreme, but that will take a while to ship. Is there anywhere I can get a small 3.5mm male to 3.5mm cable for cheap (as in, not exceeding twice the cost of the Fiio)?

Also, my 5.5gen iPod video only plays the right channel of music. Should I replace the headphone jack myself (~$10 off ebay), bring it to the Apple Store (it's not under warranty), or try to find someone to fix it?

You can get any cheap mini-mini cable on ebay @<5$ like this one:
3.5 to 3.5mm Audio Cable Stereo Lead Male MM Cords Plug - eBay (item 250328506783 end time Nov-22-08 11:54:13 PST)
That'll work fine with your FiiO.

If you don't have any skills of repairing electronics stuff, I'd recommend you bring it to the Apple Store. They may charge you some buck, but at least your iPod is repaired carefully.

That looks good, except that it's really long. Is there one on ebay that's like less than a foot?

Do you know how much the Apple Store will charge me?

Nevermind that. I've a spare mini-mini from my FiiO in the drawer. Shoot me your address and I'll send it for you free tomorrow when I'm on the way to my class.

I'm sorry I haven't experienced any repair with Apple Store so I can't estimate it.
iFixit seems to be a good one, try to contact them regarding your problem and maybe they will send you the cost.
